Frequently Asked Questions to Make Your Race Experience Great
Please take a few minutes to review the information outlined below so you are prepared!
Race Day Experience
Q: What are the plans for race day?
- 6:30am: Brigham Team Tent opens (mingle with teammates, decorate your shirt, grab some fun tattoos, access to private porta potties, etc.)
- 7:05-7:10am: Join teammates on the Boston Common baseball field for a team photo (rain or shine!)
- 7:45am: Walk to the start line
- 8:00am: Run the Boston 10K!
- Post-race party: Join us back in the Brigham Team Tent after completing your race to enjoy Panera bagels and Sam Adams beer!
Q: Help! I didn’t receive my race day bib number?
A: U.S. residents were mailed their bib number and participant guide last week. If you did not receive it, don’t worry! You can pick up your bib number race morning at the Brigham tent. A valid government issued photo ID is required to claim or replace your bib number.
Q: There is inaccurate information on my bib, what should I do?
A: If inaccuracies appear on the bib number, or your bib number appears damaged, please send an email to accountservices@baa.org, or visit the B.A.A. Athlete Services Tent near the start area on Boston Common on race day.
Q: What items must I have with me on race day?
A: Photo ID, B.A.A. bib number, and your Brigham race day shirt!
Q: How do I get to Boston Common on race day?
A: There are three options listed below. Please see the B.A.A. website for additional support.
- MBTA Stations: Chinatown is the closest orange line station. Boylston and Arlington are the closest green line stations.
- Parking: It is recommended to park at the garage at 100 Clarendon in Boston’s Back Bay. On-street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods of Beacon Hill and Back Bay are available but limited.
- Drop-off/pick-up: Charles Street will be closed at 5am and drop-off access near the start line will be blocked. Please get dropped off on Beacon St, Boylston St, Tremont St, or other nearby streets.
TRAVEL NOTIFICATIONS – BE ADVISED
- Mass Pike Construction
- Lane closures 6/20 – 6/23; reduced to one lane in each direction between exits 123 and 125 leading to delays of 2-3 hours. Drivers should be aware and find alternate routes, like Route 2 or Route 9
- Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail will be suspended from 6/20-6/22
- Orange Line – Forest Hills will be suspended 6/21-6/29

Q: Do I have to run the race?
A: NO! All fitness levels (runners and walkers) are welcome to participate.

Q: Can I leave my bag at the Brigham tent?
A: No. Gear check is provided by the B.A.A. and available near the start area on Boston Common. Please visit the B.A.A.’s site for more information.
Q: Can I bring a guest with me to the Brigham post-race party on Boston Common?
A: Guests are welcome to the tent and will receive a bracelet that identifies them as a guest. Runners and guests can have bagels; Sam Adams beer is reserved for runners only due to limited quantity.
Q: Can my guest hang out in the Brigham Team Tent before the race?
A: Yes.
Q: If I am a virtual runner, can I still attend the Brigham post-race party on Boston Common?
A: Virtual runners are welcomed to join us at the Brigham Team Tent for the pre- and post-race party on Boston Common.
Q: Are dogs allowed on the course on race day?
A: No, dogs and other animals are not allowed on the course.
Q: Does the Brigham Team have a photographer on the course?
A: YES! Our team photographer, Steve, will be at our tent in the morning and at the finish line when you complete the race. Make sure to SMILE BIG!

Participation Registration
Q: I no longer can run the race in-person, can I switch to virtual?
A: Yes, email team@bwh.harvard.edu. Please note if you already paid the Boston 10K (B.A.A.) registration fee it will not be reimbursed.
Gear
Q: What if I missed the deadline to get my Team Brigham race day shirt shipped to me?
A: If you haven’t received your shirt, you can pick it up race morning at the Brigham Team Tent on Boston Common starting at 6:30am! Please note that if you did not register by Friday, May 16 your shirt size is not guaranteed. See map below – the tent is located right next to the baseball field with a yellow circle around it.

Q: Help! My Team Brigham race day shirt is too big/small?!
A: Please email team@bwh.harvard.edu with the new size you need. On race morning, starting at 6:30am, bring your old shirt to the Brigham Team Tent on Boston Common. We’ll do our best to exchange it for your requested size.
Q: When will I get my B.A.A. race day shirt?
A: Shirts are not mailed to athletes, and sizes are while supplies last. Athletes can claim their B.A.A. shirt race day at the Shirt Distribution Tent, which is located on Boston Common by the start/finish area. Shirt distribution will only be available race day between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on race day.
Fundraising
Q: Are there fundraising incentives?
A: Yes! You can qualify for great incentives when you go above and beyond your fundraising commitment. Everyone who kicks-off their fundraising with a self-gift of $50 or more will receive one entry into a chance drawing for Red Sox Field Box tickets!

Q: When will I get my fundraising incentives?
A: All fundraising incentives will be mailed to runners in July/August to the address you registered on TeamRaiser with. If you have moved, please notify the Brigham Running Team at team@bwh.harvard.edu ASAP.
